Whether for five minutes or two hours, getting regular movement is critical for staying healthy and energized. This playshop will both get you moving and introduce tools for you to program simple movement flow sessions that work with your daily or weekly schedule and bring Jewish inspiration to your movement and mindfulness practices. Participants should wear non-restrictive clothing they can move in, and be in a space with some room to move to the extent possible.
Love Yourself as You Love Your Neighbor: Judaism and Self-Compassion with Loren Berman
“I’m such an idiot!” “I don’t deserve that promotion.” Wow! If others spoke to us the way we speak to ourselves, we wouldn’t give them the time of day. How can we be better friends to ourselves when things don’t go our way? Together, we will explore Self-Compassion as a Jewish value and practice developing this trait. You will leave with Jewish sources and ready-made meditations to use when you need them, and hopefully a new friend too.
