What does the name “Camp Nai Nai Nai” mean?

You may or may not know the rest of the words, but you know what to do when it comes to the “nai nai nai” part of the song! Whether you are Reform, Conservative, just Jewish, “Jew-ish”, all of the above, or none of above, Camp Nai Nai Nai is where we sing the wrong words to the right songs, together making up our own lyrics and rules as we go along!

How old are the campers?

Campers are Jewish young adults in their 20’s and 30’s. Everyone is 21+.

What’s included?

At Camp Nai Nai Nai, we’ve got you covered from the moment you check in on Friday afternoon until the final closing circle on Sunday.  That means your registration includes:

  • All meals, snacks throughout the day, and late night treats (think s’mores)
  • Lodging for two nights (your choice of traditional camp cabin or Tent Village)
  • Some seriously awesome, Instagram-worthy, camp swag
  • Three days of ridiculously fun activities, camp-wide programs, and huge selection of Play-shops all weekend long for a wide variety of tastes and interests
  • Spontaneous dance parties and other surprises along the way!

There will be additional premium snacks and drinks (both alcoholic and non) available for purchase during the weekend, for those who decide they want to up the ante.

When do campers arrive & leave?

Check-In is 2:00 – 4:00 PM on Friday, August 17th.

(Yes, that means you should take the day off from work and make it a long weekend!!!)

After 10PM on Friday camp becomes a closed campus and gates do not open again until Sunday morning.

Program ends at 2:30 PM on Sunday, August 19th and buses depart at 3:00 PM.

Are there any discounts?

TOTALLY! Register as a group of 4 or more people and each person will get $25 off, automatically applied at check out! What a great reason to get your friends together for a totally awesome weekend!

EVERYONE, group or not, can also save by signing up early and taking advantage of our earliest bird discount to save $50 off registration before June 15, 2018 or $25 off registration July 10, 2018. Registration closes August 3, 2018.

BEST YET – if you sign up early AND you come in a group of 4 or more, you can combine the discounts! ($50 + $25 = $75 off!)

Why is camp so affordable?

We are proud to have the backing of Maimonides Fund!  Four days and three nights of activities, lodging and food would otherwise be significantly more expensive! Thanks to their amazing support, the cost of camp is hugely subsidized, so camp is super affordable for you!

What are the housing options at camp?

Campers can choose from two types of accommodations as part of general registration – Rustic Camp Cabin or Teepee Tent. For private lodging, you may upgrade to a Deluxe Tepee Tent. 

Rustic Camp Cabins

Camp Cabins vary in size, sleeping 2 to 8 people per bunk. Cabins have mattresses on the beds, electricity, lights, heaters, a mirror, and hooks. Most have a small table and chairs. Bedding is not included.

Teepee Tents

Campers who are excited about the outdoor camp experience, or who do not want to be in a bunk with others, may opt to live in a teppe tent.  The tents will be set up for you in advance and are suitable for individuals or couples. Tents are 10 x 10 and include two disc-o-bunk beds. Mattresses and bedding not included.

Deluxe Tepee Tents (Private Bunk)

For campers who want private accommodations and a true glamping experience, you may reserve a Deluxe Tepee Tent, furnished with a queen bed and 2 additional twin mattresses, as well as a rug, lantern, and nightstand. Bedding is not included. A Deluxe Tepee Tent may be used by one person or a couple, at a cost of $395 per person.

Are the bunks separated by gender?

We have options for campers can choose to stay in bunks that are male-only, female-only, or “genderful” (all-gender) cabins, which welcome campers who identify any which way.  You will be able to select your preference upon registration.

Do I need to bring bedding and towels?

You should bring your own bedding and towels! You may rent a sleeping bag and pillow upon arrival for $30.

What about bathrooms and showers?

There is a shower house located in the main cabin area, plus outdoor toilet stalls and shower stalls. None of the accommodation options have private bathrooms. It’s camp!

Can I stay with friends?

Obvi. You can request friends you’d like to bunk with when you complete your registration.  And, you can always contact us directly if you want to add someone later on. We will do our best to accommodate these requests, though can’t pinky swear.

How do we register our group?

To qualify for a group discounted ticket, groups must register all at once.  So, organize among yourselves, get your group together and then pick one person in your group to complete the online registration for everyone.  You will need your friends’ info, including their phone number, address, date of birth, and dietary restrictions.

What kind of food will be served? Will camp be able to accommodate my dietary needs?

This won’t be your typical camp food.  Our camp chefs work hard to create menus that are filled with healthy, diverse options that are super tasty to boot!  We’ll have meals that are a twist on old camp classics, but with upgrades for our adult palettes.

Our culinary team will work with each camper to ensure that any dietary restrictions are accounted for.  Gluten-free? No problem.  Not so great with dairy?  You’ll have great options at camp!  You’ll have the opportunity to indicate your dietary restrictions when completing your registration form and if we have any questions for you, we’ll be in touch ahead of camp so we can make sure you’re well taken care of during the weekend.

Will the food be kosher?

No. Meals will be Kosher-style (no pork or shellfish; meals will be either dairy or meat) but not Glatt Kosher. If you would like to request Glatt Kosher meals, please let us know and we’ll be happy to arrange it!

Can I bring my kids or pets?

Kids are great!  Pets are awesome!  But camp is for adults 21+ only.  Use this as a getaway weekend – drop your kids with your family or friends; leave your pets with your trusty pet sitter – come to camp to relax, rejuvenate, have a ton of fun and enjoy taking a break from your routine.

Will there be alcohol?

We’ll be serving wine at Shabbat dinner and each camper will get 10 drink tickets to cash in throughout the weekend when the bar is open (during free time, dinner, and evening programs). Campers will be able to purchase additional drink tickets ($20 for 5) during the weekend, if they so choose, using a credit card.

How do I get to camp?

Probably one of the most important questions!
We will organize official camp buses to/from downtown San Francisco and SFO airport that will depart on Friday morning and return on Sunday afternoon.

Campers can also drive themselves to camp and will need to purchase a parking pass, since parking space is limited. For those driving, we encourage carpooling! We will be sharing a rideshare tool with registered campers to help connect with each other for rides.

You can pay for your spot on the bus or your parking pass online when you complete your online registration.

Can I arrive late or leave early?

We understand that sometimes plans change and you can’t predict that last minute curveball.  Do your best to let us know in advance if you have any scheduling conflicts, so we can work with you to figure out the best solution together.  However, please understand that program costs cannot be prorated.

What do I need to bring?

Pack light but for lots of activity and fun!  Think bathing suit, sporty shoes, activewear, sunglasses, costumes for themed meals, sunblock, and more.  Don’t worry – we’ll send out a suggested packing list to registered campers closer to the start of camp, so you can come fully prepared for a stellar weekend of playing in the woods!

Is camp wheelchair accessible?

Yes! Some cabins have wheelchair ramps. The main lodge has a wheelchair ramp, with access to the main hall, as well as an ADA bathroom. The main shower house has an ADA toilet stall.

Is there a cancellation/refund policy?

All purchases are final.  Call our office if you have an extenuating circumstance that you want to discuss with our team.

Are there any camp rules?

Imagine a place where adults really let go, laugh uncontrollably, sing during meals, and stay up late sharing secrets; where what you binge on is arts & crafts and the sweat earned from color war is enough liquid courage to bust out your favourite moves at the camp dance.

That’s Camp Nai Nai Nai and these rules were created to help make that vision a reality…

Adults Only: This is a summer camp for adults (21+). Leave your children and pets at home. Yes, imaginary friends are welcome.

  • Leave Time Behind: No need to carry your phone or wear a watch. You’ll get the schedule at camp and enjoy each moment as is – no matter where you are, you are always right on time.
  • Love Thy Neighbor: You don’t have to get along with every single person you meet.  But, you do have to treat everybody with respect and dignity.  At camp, we are creating an inclusive, welcoming environment, so make sure you’re treating others the way you’d want to be treated. Cool?  K, thanks.
  • Less W-Talk: Talking about work is boring. Exploring, learning and playing with your camp buddies is way more fun!  This is not the place to network or find connections for your J-O-B; camp is for making friends and memories.
  • Say No to Illegal Drugs: That’s not how we roll at Camp Nai Nai Nai.  So, don’t bring ‘em and don’t use ‘em.
  • You’re Down With O.P.P.: You know it’s not cool to mess with other people’s property (O.P.P.), whether it’s the camp’s or another campers’.  Meaning, don’t cause damage to the facilities, equipment, materials or other property that does not belong to you.
